How Soybeans Conducive To Weight Loss ?

esearch shows that when soy consumption believes, the weight decreases. A new study from the University of Illinois may help scientists understand the genesis of this weight loss.

According to Dr. Elvira de Mejia, assistant professor of human nutrition, the authors compared the effects of hydrolysates of soy protein and soy peptides with those of leptin because they have assumed that soy might behave in the body in a manner similar to leptin.

Leptin is a hormone produced in adipose tissue that interacts with receptors in the brain. It tells us that we have eaten enough.

The researchers wanted to know if hydrolysates of soy protein were able to affect hormones standardization and their receptors.

The authors have found that soy had an effect on the biological mechanism of the body to degrade lipids and reduce body weight, its action being by increasing metabolism and not by reducing food intake.

Laboratory tests have been conducted in rats for two weeks. During this period the animals were given unlimited access to food and water. Their food was measured on a regular basis 3, 6, 12, 24 and 48 hours after an injection of soy protein and / or soy peptides. All rats lost weight.

After the third injection authors have noted a significant weight loss in the group of animals received a variety of soy hydrolysates. In this case the soy protein had induced weight loss by altering the metabolism of rats.

For the authors these experiments show that not only soy peptides may link with receptors in the brain but also shows that eating less is not always the reason for weight loss. Weight loss is a complex physiological event. It does not always correspond to the wording as simple as: eat less and do more exercises.

Weight loss is a cascade of events, beginning with the production of certain hormones and continuing through their action in the brain. Some people are resistant to these hormones, in the same way that other people are resistant to insulin. These people never receive any message from the brain that tells them they have eaten enough.
